“Best New Brewery in the Metro” in 2014 by the Minneapolis Star Tribune!
In other awesome news, the Minneapolis Star Tribune has called Bent Brewstillery the “best new brewery in the Metro” for 2014! (Click here for the article) This is a great accomplishment considering the number of excellent startups over the past year.
We were also named by City Pages as one of the top 7 places to eat in Roseville. This is an extra-special honor since we don’t actually serve food—food trucks take care of that on Friday nights—but the feature shows that they really wanted to recognize us as a top Roseville destination.
Taproom & Distillery
Our two and a half months of construction will finally be complete around the middle of June, and we’ll be able to open the taproom and start production from the distillery! The taproom will be one of the largest in the state-and with a distillery as the backdrop of the bar, possibly the most unique. Before the taproom opens, we plan to have several small, unique batches brewed that will bring people in the doors and keep them coming back for the one-off brews that we will create.
St. Paul Summer Beer Fest and Acclivity
Coming up: This Thursday, May 29, we are releasing our first Berliner Weisse called Acclivity. Kristen will be at Ward 6 in St Paul from 4 p.m. onward, so come over and have a pint with him. Also join us at St. Paul Summer Beer Fest June 7 at the State Fairgrounds. This is where it all started: we made our premier at last year’s Fest. Come and celebrate our birthday with a couple thousand of your closest friends! Tickets are still available at http://www.stpaulsummerbeerfest.com
We are now a regular guest on The Beer Show on AM1500 ESPN radio. We usually get 8–10 minutes of airtime, so tune in Thursdays from 7–8pm to hear the latest and greatest Brewstillery news.
We sponsor a local theatre group called Shadow Horse Theatre. This is the group responsible for the A Drinking Game series at Bryant Lake Bowl, where the attendees (and actors) all drink upon a verbal queue during the show. This is a fun time with good beer. Catch one of their monthly shows if you can.
We have two new beers coming out. The first is a Chilean Stout brewed with coffee, honey, and Merquén, a native Chilean spice. (I may be biased, but it is phenomenal!) The second new beer is a sour collaboration with Where The Wild Beers Are. WTWBA is known as the preeminent sour beer aficionados; the organization puts on a festival in Brooklyn in the spring and Minneapolis in the fall. Before the taproom opens, we plan to have several small, unique batches brewed that will bring people in the doors and keep them coming back for the one-off brews that we will create.
That’s all for now! Closer to taproom opening, I’ll send another update to let you know when to stop by to see our new digs and partake of our new brews.
